I heard these words, "I don't know how, but I promise", while watching a special on TV the other day and the statement resonated so strongly with me that it sent a surge through my body.
The fact that someone was willing to make a promise to another person to help make a lousy situation better without knowing how he could do it was a beautiful example of caring, compassion and devotion and trust. There was such fire in him when he said these words that there was no question a solution would be found.
How many times in your life do you find yourself unwilling to make promises to yourself because you have know idea how you might make that promise a possibility and that possibility a reality? Well, I've said it before and I'll say it again. Knowing the how is not what matters most. Having the heart, belief, desire and trust in getting something done is what matters most. Taking the first step toward something that's important to you is what matters most.
Today, have the courage to make a promise to yourself for the simply reason that you're important enough to make promises to. It doesn't have to be some big, monumental event. It can be something small. Something that you've been afraid to take a step toward for fear of not knowing how it could all actually manifest.
Go for it now. And allow yourself the room to change course along the way until you fulfill your own promise.
