This post will be my last one until the new year. I'm taking some time off from all my writing to simply relax, play and be with family and friends. I want to wish you all a beautiful holiday season and thank you for taking the time out of your busy days to visit my blog. I hope you continue to do so in the new year as there will be much more to share with you.

Listen To Create a Quiet Mind

It seems that entire blog for December 18th did not get posted. Must have been a technical glitch so I am reposting it here.

The other night I realized something that I'm sure all of you have experienced as well. I woke up abruptly because of a loud noise. As I lay there very still, listening intently to figure out what it was I heard, I noticed something about 5 minutes into my listening. My mind was absolutely quiet the entire time. No thoughts whatsoever. Of course, once I realized this, my mind was no longer quiet but it was a wonderful awareness in the moment.

I decided to do an experiment. For the entire day, any chance I had, I just listened to the sounds that existed. I mean everything. The sound of my steps as I walked across a room. The running water. Doors opening and closing. Light switches being turned on and off. The faint sounds in the distance outside. The sound of the computer keypad. The birds, wind, cars, dogs, children laughing, while on my walk. Whatever I was doing, wherever I went, if the opportunity allowed me to just listen to the various sounds around me, I did. Every time I did this, my mind was silent. There was no identification as to what the sound was. Just an awareness around it.

By the end of the day I found myself more relaxed and at peace than I normally do. My day was free of worries and thoughts about the past and future. It was a profound experience and one that I invite you to try for yourself. If you notice yourself identifying in your mind what you are hearing, just bring your attention back to your listening. I guess you could consider it a moving meditation for an entire day.

An Invitation For Your Life

Whether you realize it or not, every single day you're sending out an invitation for your life addressed to the Universe. Now the Universe, unlike many people who receive an invitation, always sends you an RSVP. The good news is, when you're aware and clear about your invitation, and it's created in the highest vibration possible, and you remain in this vibration, your RSVP can come quickly, easily and effortlessly leaving you thrilled with who and what shows up at your party of life.

The problem, however, is far too many people don't experience this for themselves and many aren't even aware that they're sending out this invitation every day.

If you are aware, but you're not receiving the RSVP that you intended, it's simply because once that invitation is out there, your Gremlin shows up and starts giving you all sorts of reasons why the people or situations you invited can't come to your party. And guess what? You believe it.

On the other hand, when you're not aware of sending out the invitation, your Gremlin plays a part in this too. S/he is busy inviting all sorts of things into your life on your behalf that keeps her/him in power while you remain asleep to the invitations of the Gremlin. This is also known as a surprise party!

Now if you're not particularly found of surprise parties, then it's up to you to gently and lovingly wake yourself up and start sending out your own invitations that hold a vibration for your highest good.

If you know you've sent out invitations, then it's important to not go back to sleep and let the Gremlin take over while you snooze thinking your work has been done.

As you stay alert and conscious to all the invitations for you life, the next time you open the door to greet your next guests, you'll find yourself embracing them with great love and appreciation for coming to your party since it's exactly who and what you wanted!

Self-Honesty

If you've been reading the posts on my blog I'm going to assume you've chosen a life path that contains possibilities inclusive of awakening, growth, expansion, spirituality, enlightenment, peace, joy, acceptance. I think you get the picture and I want you to know I'm on that path with you.

The further along I find myself on this path there seems to be something I bump into fairly regularly that requires me to take pause before I continue along the way. Self-honesty.

I've come to understand that until we are completely honest with ourselves, we will never really be moving as far down the path to being fully awake, as we might believe. We might be able to fool ourselves for a time being, but eventually, we will be faced with a similar situation disguised in different clothing that we weren't willing to come clean with earlier on.

The fact is, if you want to move through stuff as quickly as possible, then choose self-honesty at every opportunity. When you're honest with yourself and you take an action that allows you to support that, you will absolutely move into a place of remembering who you really are and that is the greatest gift you can give yourself and the world.

The key to self-honesty, like anything else that matters to you in life, is your commitment to the process. Because without it, there's only so far you can travel down that path.

What are you willing to do to have total commitment toward your self-honesty? What do you believe you can gain from it? What do you loose from not committing to it?

What Would Love Do Now?

Sometimes life gets messy. Sometimes life can leave us feeling like we'll never fully get "it". Sometimes there's just no easy choices and yet a choice still has to be made.

In those moments of messiness, not getting "it", or tough choices, ask yourself, "What would love do now?" These 5 simply words can truly transform your thinking and actions in ways that can take you further along your spiritual path more rapidly than you might imagine. As human beings we complicate things greatly and in our quest to be the best we can be, this is the one real question that allows us to be just that.

Even in the most frustrating or painful situations, "What would love do now?" assists you in seeing things from a higher perspective so you are able to guide yourself in a direction that leaves you feeling at peace with your choices.

Don't Wait

Don't wait to:

Speak your truth
Conquer your fears
Wake up
Be joyful
Manifest your dreams
Take charge of your life
Feel powerful
Create boundaries
Thank someone
Be at peace
Lend a helping hand
Smile brightly
Laugh out loud
Have compassion
Listen fully
Give a compliment
Be gentle
Play
Say I love you

And above all else, don't wait to LOVE YOURSELF

Life is short. You really don't know how much time you have. Don't wait.

More About The Secret

In my email yesterday was a newsletter from Alan Cohen, one of my favorite authors and spiritual teachers. He wrote something about The Secret and I would like to share part of it with you because he brings to "center stage" two aspects of The Secret that are important.

Alan shares how much he enjoyed The Secret and recommends it "as an entertaining and richly insightful illumination of a metaphysical principle underlying so much of our lives."

He goes on to say:

First, "the secret" is no secret at all. It has been shouted from the rooftops by every great philosopher and metaphysician since soothsayers have been saying their sooths. It is scribed in every book of substance, provides a backbone for every movie with a point, ripples through Rumi's poetry, and wends its way through inspired music, art, and all forms of creative expression. The only reason the secret has remained a secret is that very few people have paid attention to it. Most people are distracted by fear and mass limited thinking, which blinds them to the truth as plain as the noonday sun.

When each of us finally awakens to the obviousness of the principles behind a successful life, we exclaim, "My God, how could I have overlooked that!?"

I would also emphasize a secret behind the secret: All that you seek, you already have, and are. If you think that the purpose of the Law of Attraction is to get stuff, you have gotten off the bus one stop too early. We believe that if we could just get the Jaguar, we would get the good feeling. And we would - until it gets its first ding. The deeper secret is that if we could get the good feeling, the Jaguar would naturally follow without a lot of hassle and stress. We would not worry about losing it because when you're happy from the inside out, when you recognize you can tap into everything the Jaguar represents, right where you are sitting, doors open that would not have opened when you were trying to get the thing for the sake of the thing. I don't advise making stuff the goal. Make Spirit the goal, and you will have everything you need, and more.

Grow Into The Answers

Since I shared an experience with you in Friday's post about coming up with an answer for a more logical situation I thought I'd continue the dialogue of answers in this post with spiritual practices.

Many times when I'm sharing something with clients they will ask me questions and sometimes they aren't always able grasp the answers I give them at a level that brings them perfect understanding. The lack of perfect understanding is perfect! And the reason it's perfect is because it's an answer that needs time to unfold in them. It needs nurturing. It needs patience. It needs their willingness to grow into the answers. It's not an answer the mind is going to be able to understand completely because more times than not it goes deeper than the limited perspective of the mind.

You may find yourself in the position of being told certain things or reading material that doesn't quite make sense, but it's there because, whether you believe it or not, you're ready for it. And when you trust yourself enough to just take it in and let it be, you'll find yourself growing into the answers leaps and bounds.

Allowing yourself to grow into the answers is the gift you give yourself when you want to expand your consciousness and connect more deeply with your heart and soul.

Feeeeling The Answer

Sometimes we have this relentless need to come up with answers to questions that seem to be out of our reach for immediate understanding. This can create so much frustration that it actually keeps us from receiving an answer. But when we're willing to go beyond our mind and let go of the frustration, magic can happen.

This is true for spiritual issues as well as the everyday situations. And a few days ago I experienced this magic with one of those everyday situations. Mathematics.

I went to pick up a COD check from my local Postnet store for something I mailed to someone a couple of weeks ago. It was my belief that I paid twice for shipping and that Postnet owed me more money than the check I was picking up. Much to my surprise, when I got there, the owner told me I actually owed him money. When I explained my understanding of the situation he became confused and started to doubt the way he had it figured out.

We sat down, attempting to figure this out together. It seemed the harder we tried, the more confused we both became, ultimately bringing us to laughter. Well, it was during the laughter that the answer hit me like a lightening bolt and I absolutely knew that I did owe him! When I told him this he looked at me like I had 2 heads because he was still confused. The odd part was I couldn't explain it! I just knew and there wasn't a doubt in my mind. The peace that washed over my body was undeniable. I went from being uptight, (not out of anger, but out of needing to understand the numbers because I'm a numbers kind of gal.), to being completely confident and relaxed in my knowing.
