So there I am, waiting patiently in line at the post office. I was the second in a long line of people behind me - 9 to be exact. While reading something I had just taken out of my PO box I hear this voice, inches away from my ear, say, "This is ridiculous! I waited in the package pick up line for 10 minutes only to be told to come over to this line and now I'm waiting another 10 minutes!"
The man in front of me turns around and says, "Yeah, this is insane how long it's all taking." Finding myself in the middle of this Gremlin conversation I stepped away from the two of them so they could go at it without me being a part of their energy. Boy did they have a field day for another minute or so until the woman says, "That's it, I'm leaving! I've been here for 20 minutes and I won't stand for it another second!"
Then the man says, "I don't blame you! She turns and walks away and I watch him watching her leave, then looking back to the one clerk behind the counter. Suddenly he says, "I'm outta here, too!" and off he goes leaving me first in line. Whoo hoo!
Here's the reality - the total time either of them were in the post office was maybe 5-7 minutes because we all got there around the same time.
Wanna know what had me cracking up right after they left? Four more clerks came to the counters and the line began moving really fast.
You've heard it before and I'll say it again - your outer world is a reflection of your inner world. Are you always in a rush or do you have time to spare? Do you believe the world is a safe place or a dangerous place? Are people friendly or not? Are people trustworthy or not? Do you see more joy or anger in your world?
It's pretty clear the kind of world that lives inside this man and woman.
