With Thanksgiving just days away and the holiday season moving into full throttle, I want to remind you about something I've mentioned many times before. Managing your emotional energy.
Whoever you're with and whatever obligations you feel you must follow through with, it's completely up to you to consciously manage your emotional energy so you allow yourself to have the best time possible with family and friends. And keep in mind, managing you emotional energy actually starts before you are with the people you'll be spending your time with.
Watch what you think and speak about in anticipation around the upcoming festivities. If you find yourself complaining about certain people, you're setting yourself up for the same old experience. Start feeeeeling and seeing an experience that you would like to have.
No matter what people are saying or doing, you're still free to choose how you want to feeeeel and respond to what is happening around you. You can either get caught up in someone else's energy and illusion or you can stay true to yourself and let go of anything that isn't serving your highest good.
I realize this isn't always the easiest thing to do when you're in the throes of what's taking place in the moment, but that doesn't mean it's not possible. Don't engage until you're ready to do so in a way that feeeeels more aligned with your heart and Soul. Don't react from the pushed buttons.
Pause, take a breath, and ask yourself, "Who do I choose to be in this moment that would serve the highest good of all concerned?" It only takes a second to do this and it allows you the space to make a new choice and not react out of habit. It allows you to Quiet the Gremlin. It allows you to change your story. It allows you to create a different relationship. And it allows you to reconnect with your Soul.
Have a beautiful Thanksgiving Day!
Thanks for the reminder. This was perfectly written and well timed. I appreciate you!
