Learn the Key Secret
That Will Bring You More Ease
and Fulfillment …
Even if it Feels Like You've Lost Your Soul
It's always nice to see personal development concepts discussed in the mainstream media. Most of our society has been conditioned to believe that "life happens to us"....and the reality is that "we happen to our lives".
Kudos to everyone involved in the production of "The Secret" and in raising the general public' awareness that "we create our own realities".

After watching Larry King the other night it seemed that many understood the laws of attraction concept of The Secret. A quetion that was asked was "OK, but how can we be positive?"
Many years ago, I read an article that basically stated that the brain is so stupid that it will believe what you tell it. So, for 20 years, I have practiced telling my brain only positive thoughts. Through the years I have developed many of my own techniques for chasing away negative thoughts when they try to over-rule. I have an article on 10 steps to a Positive Attitude. If you would like to read it, email me and let me know.
Cheers! Your Most Positive Female.

I tend to focus quite a bit on the side of possibility, challenging the current state to create something greater than was previously known or thought of, individually, in a group or culturally. Which can often be motivated by some form of strong negative emotion, as a loud indication of what is not working. But I'm also aware that it is easy to get stuck in trying to force something that's not ready yet and lose the higher purpose. There is a big difference between negative thinking, which is usually destructive (and has the intention of avoidance, and critical thinking (or looking at why things are not necessarily good and positive) which can be very constructive. Maybe even more so than just being positive and accepting. I'm not suggesting that you should not be positive and accepting, I'm suggesting that it is possible to do both. Because both are organic outgrowths of the same situation. The difference being that you get a chance to see more of the complete picture. Having a positive interpretation creates ease, relaxation, joy and draws attention, opens the eyes and the mind. Critical thinking on the other hand does a couple things
* Draws a comparison between what the reality is (what you have now) and what you truly desire. when judgment is very useful.
* Identifies values, priorities, importance as to whether what you are focusing (either positive or negative throughts) is making progress towards improving the quality of your life.
* Provides the opportunity for growth because you create space in your awareness. A new question pops up: How can I feel good about what's working, and take steps to improve what's not.
Think about it for a second, everything you do or think produces a result. If you could somehow only think positively about the result, then everything would be complete, there would be no need or motivation for change. Progress would stop because the end has been reached...perfection. But that isn't really possible is it? I'm convinced that we are only truly happy when we are making progress towards our goals or desires. But having goals or desires in itself suggests that things aren't perfect.
Coming from an athletic background, one of the ways I relate to this is through practice and training. It is a constant back and forth of stress (breakdown) and rest/reflection (regeneration/adaptation) to do it again next time even better. That is the key to success in everything in life. They have to go together, or else you plateau.
How does this relate to "The Secret", you ask? You can't only think positively because that just becomes fantasy. Fantasy is a way to escape reality in an attempt to just feel good, or denial of the negative side. Just like a magnet any positive force will always have an equally negative force. Or the law of motion that every action will have an equal and opposite reaction. That negative force is very real, and usually shows up in the form of doubt, fear, hurt. If you want to change anything and attract your desires you have to know what's pushing it away from you or else you'd already have it (and there would not be any desire for it). Think of your consciousness as a whole pie, without looking at what's not working you won't want to cut out a slice to create room for something better. ie. no room for improvement.
I think I diverged a little from the topic but it all comes down to how you can see life as a journey not a destination.

Ryan and Ricarte,
Thank you both for your comments and insights. We live in a world where there is an enormous amount of options for us to move along our spiritual path and there is no right or wrong way. It is all perfect as each individual person finds their own way that is the best fit for them.
I am extremely grateful for all those souls in the world who are sincerely sharing their information and raising the vibration of the world.
Ryan, The Secret is a wonderful opportunity for people who are new to the idea of the Law of Attraction.
Yes, there is much more to be delved into and exposed and it must be done one step at a time or people would be overwhelmed and perhaps confused when they are just starting out on their spiritual awakening.
Ricarte, I am quite familiar with the practice of Ho'oponopono through a teacher of mine over the years, who lives in Hawaii. She practices and teaches many of the Spiritiual Hawaiin traditions.
And with that said, there have been many wonderful teachings I have been exposed to along the way that have all played a magnificent part in my life allowing me to continue to expand my Spirit and answer the call of my Soul.
So as we let go of judgment around any of the paths toward awakening, we free ourselves and others to organically discover what is best for each and every one of us throughout the journey.

Negativity might be "inseparable" from positivity but I choose to be positive all the time.
Have anyone heard of the Hawaiian method of Ho'oponopono. It sounds weird but its meaning is something like clearing toxic emotions. You only say or think 4 phrases about love and forgiveness. Then you immediately go back to feeling good. Alternatively, you might release old pains and sorrows (tears of joy!) for a few minutes but then feel freed from the illusion that you had you feeling pain in your life.
BTW, I learned about this from my colleague Dr. Joe Vitale, recently seen on Larry King Live talking about The Power of Positive thinking.
His forum rocks and his technique, or The Secret that he teaches, is how to really feeling happy and blissful ALL the time.
Ho'oponopono works... Let me know anyone who'd like to read testimonials of people who experience almost immediate miracles with it. Also, I can send you to free sites with various articles on it. Thank You and Love You All.

Thanks for the transcripts.
On the subject of the movie "The Secret", a good friend of mine attended a seminar from Dr. Demartini (from "The Secret", drdemartini.com) and sounds like his feedback was that the movie was exciting and captivating, but that it missed the point. That, even though it creates a sense that it is all pleasure, all good, Dr. Demartini makes it clear that positive and negative are inseperable. That "The idea that we can create more positive than negative is a
fantasy." Intense negativity can be very useful when directed and used with intention vs. letting it control you.
